Mitsubishi is one of the largest Japanese corporations specializing in car manufacturing. The department Mitsubishi Motors, whose headquarters is in Tokyo, is a part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

Mitsubishi was founded by Yataro Iwasaki in 1873 as a ship-building and ship-repairing company. In 1875 after several changes of the name, the company got the name Mitsubishi Mail Steamship Company.

In 1917 Mitsubishi launched Model-A, the first production vehicle in Japan. At that time vehicles were produced only by plane makers and shipbuilding departments of Mitsubishi. It was at those times that the philosophy of engineering perfection and the highest reliability of Mitsubishi cars was laid down.

Today Mitsubishi Motors is one of the largest auto manufacturer in the world producing more than 1.6 mln vehicles per year in 32 countries. Mitsubishi produces a wide range of vehicles – from mini autos to heavy trucks, buses and special commercial vehicles as well as off-road and passenger cars.

The advance technologies of Mitsubishi are recognized all over the world and the reliability of cars with the well-known symbol "Three diamonds" is proved in the most severe conditions of sports competitions.
